Part 2: Spoons - Robert Maudsley saw himself as sort of an avenging angel for those who were victims of childhood sexual abuse like he suffered. S5E8: The Broadmoor Hall of Fame Pt. 2

In the eighth episode of Season 5, your host JD Horror takes you back inside the walls of the notorious Broadmoor Psychiatric Hospital in England. Over the course of the next couple of episodes we will meet some of the asylum's most famous patients, each more vile than the next.

Part 2: The Duke of Broadmoor - Ronald and Reggie Kray were twin brothers who became notorious gangsters in London's East End during the 1950's and 1960's. S4E10: Mother (Edmund Kemper)

They say a boy’s best friend is his mother. Well the weird ones do at least, and perhaps there are none weirder than the subject of our story today. While the neighborhood kids were out playing tag, he was pretending to asphyxiate in the gas chamber or be electrocuted to death… Instead of playing with GI Joes or wrestle buddies, this boy would cut the heads off of his sister’s dolls and pretend to watch their non-existent blood drain onto the living room carpet as a part of juvenile pseudo black magic rituals... This odd little boy would grow up into a hulk of a man, and he would smash his way into the nightmares of college students in Northern California and beyond after word of his atrocious acts spread like wildfire.

S4E3: Sexual Sadists Pt. 6 (Master Manipulators)

In the newest installment of our series of sexual sadists, we will be focusing on the stories of master manipulators. These are the stories of evil men who were able to convince impressionable teenagers to join them on a wicked ride to the darkest recesses of the human condition. These monsters used their odd charisma as a means of attracting kids, usually down on their luck and in need of a big brother type of figure, to help them enact their vile fantasies. Listeners, be careful who you run with, as it is often said you are the company you keep is a reflection of who you want to be… or just maybe... who you already are.

Case #1: Candy Coated Cruelty - Dean Corll was known as The Candy Man of Houston Heights. He would often be outside of schools giving free candy to the kids out of his white van, but he didn't do it out of the kindness of his heart.. instead it was the beginning of his grooming technique. Corll would use teenagers to help him abduct children that he could take back to his house and put on his torture board. (Dean Corll, Houston, TX)

Case #2: The Freeway Killer - William Bonin used his charisma to convince a series of young men to aide him in his murderous journey of torture and pain. In the late 1800’s, on the corner of South Wallace Avenue and West 63rd St in Chicago, Illinois there stood a modern day castle. It featured secret passageways and doors leading to nowhere and it's more than 100 rooms served as lodging, business spaces, and retail, but its basement however was reserved for the murder of up to 200 unfortunate souls.

The three story building’s owner didn’t do it for the thrill, or the process, of the killing, nor for some sick need to possess the body, or product, of his evil actions. Instead it’s proprietor did it for one of the oldest and most pervasive reasons in human history, money. The almighty dollar.
